Subject:      Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. partners with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

I’m excited to announce that Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Inc. will be the national volunteer partner for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Game Day Give Back program.

St. Jude Game Day Give Back program is basically a football watch party with a purpose. When you gather your friends and family for your annual big game party, tell them you you’re raising support for St. Jude. No matter who takes to the field on Super Sunday, we can all cheer for the parents at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude treats children from across the U.S. and around the world who have cancer, sickle cell, and other deadly diseases. No family ever pays St. Jude for anything – because all families should worry about is helping their child live.

As Omega brothers, we know that friendship is essential to the soul. What better way to exhibit true friendship than to use one of the best days for friends to gather – game day- as a way to extend that friendship and support to the patients of St. Jude.

Here’s how I need your help as Omega leadership to make this program a success:

  1. Encourage each of the chapters in your district to register to host a St. Jude Game Day Give Back party. It’s easy – chapters just need to register on line where they see the Omega Psi Phi shield. They can select their chapter, enter details about the date (Feb. 2nd is the Big Game, but they may wish to do a party for a playoff game), time and party location. Through the website, they can easily invite other chapter members and friends and raise donations.

  1. Once registered, chapters will automatically receive information from St. Jude with tips and suggestions on how to make their watch parties fun and successful fundraising events.

  1. St. Jude will send you regular reports so you can see which chapters in your district are registered as well as their fundraising progress.

  1. At the conclusion of the program, we’ll announce the top fundraising chapter for each district.St. Jude Research Hospital will host a special celebration event for district leadership and representatives from the top chapters at St. Jude in the spring.

The Fraternity, along with St. Jude, will provide you with a message to send to your districts and also send follow-up messages to encourage participation. Brother David Marion, 1st Vice Grand Basileus, and Brother Al White, International Social Action Chairman, will lead the efforts for Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. The web-site address and additional information will be available very soon.
